What to bring
When you are riding in the mountains, you should always keep in mind that the
weather can change in an instant and while it may be sunny and 80 degrees at one
moment or at your starting location, it can change to snow, rain or hail and 20
degrees as you change in altitude. Here is our suggested list of what to bring
for your ride:
- Goggles or some sort of eye protection. Goggles and maps
available for purchase at rental locations or pre-order when making
a reservation.
- Rain Gear: Preferably waterproof breathable; remember that
“water resistant” clothing means you will still get wet in a
downpour.
- Extra Clothing: Dressing in layers is wise but also remember
extra clothing if it turns cold. We carry hats, gloves and extra
layers every time we go out!
- Sunscreen: While it may feel cool in the mountains, the UV rays
are much more intense at higher elevations and you will burn more
quickly.
- Shoes should have closed toes; in other words, sandals are not
recommended.
- Take plenty of water and extra food. You should always be
prepared for the worst, in case you get stranded or lost.
- First Aid Kit
